Romania \u2013 Medal Record at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles \u2013 Ros\u00e9 Session
52 of the 144 Romanian wines entered in the ros\u00e9-focused edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles<\/strong><\/a> won medals, setting a new record for Romania, which ranked 4th among the most awarded wine-producing countries. Moreover, the total of 52 medals exceeded the 30% limit – the maximum percentage of entries that can receive medals in the competition. <\/span><\/p>\n

Romanian wines won 3 Grand Gold Medals, 20 Gold Medals, and 29 Silver Medals at this year’s ros\u00e9 wine session of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, the largest ros\u00e9 wine competition in the world. The event took place March 28\u201330 in Constan\u021ba. The 52 awards represent Romania\u2019s most prolific participation in an international wine competition. This edition placed Romania 4th in the medal standings, after France, Italy, and Spain. <\/span><\/p>

        Dobrogea was the region with the most awarded ros\u00e9 wines \u2013 3 Grand Golds, 10 Golds, and 13 Silvers \u2013 followed by Moldova, with 7 Golds and 4 Silvers.         This ros\u00e9 wine session, part of the prestigious and influential Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, was held March 28\u201330, 2025, in Constan\u021ba, located in the Dobrogea wine region. It marked a historic first for Romanian wine, as this was the first time the CMB hosted one of its competitions in Romania.<\/span><\/p>

        Over three days, nearly 70 international judges blind-tasted ros\u00e9 wines from around the world and discovered the incredible diversity of Dobrogea. A notable innovation this year was the significant presence of buyers from major international retail chains and shops among the jury, along with winemakers, journalists, sommeliers, and wine educators representing 19 nationalities. <\/span><\/p>

        In total, 1,250 ros\u00e9 wines from 34 countries were judged – setting a new record for the CMB Ros\u00e9 Session. It was also a record-breaking year for Romanian wines, with 144 entries, compared to 44 in the previous year.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

        The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is a global benchmark in wine competitions. Its independence, strict standards, and tasting procedures ensure consumer trust, allowing them to purchase medal-winning wines with full confidence.<\/span><\/p>

        The CMB rules follow the regulations of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), which caps the number of medals at 30% of total entries. Founded in 1994 in Brussels, Belgium, the competition became an itinerant event after 20 editions, hosted by some of the world\u2019s most iconic wine regions.
