for the past three decades, <strong>the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles<\/strong> is one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world, its popularity leading organizers to divide it into four different sections &#8211; ros\u00e9 wines, white and red wines, sparkling wines, and sweet or fortified wines &#8211; a necessary step due to the very large number of sample entries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2023, 350 judges representing 50 countries were needed to ensure the judging of all entries. The section dedicated to ros\u00e9 wines, held in Croatia, was the first this year, with the next three to take place in Mexico in June (white and red wines), Italy in July (sparkling wines), and Belgium in October (sweet or fortified wines). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the just-concluded ros\u00e9 wine competition, 1,205 samples were submitted, and the jury, consisting of 55 tasters, awarded medals within the regulatory limit of 30% of all sample<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles<\/strong> is not just an instrument for evaluating wines but also the tasters: since 2004, the organizers have collaborated with the Statistics Institute of the Catholic University of Louvain to evaluate the performances of each judge. Two Romanian tasters, Georgel Costache and Valentin Ceafalau, have been awarded the title of &#8220;Benchmark taster&#8221; over time for their consistent performances.
