The grapes had both characteristic flavours  <\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cabernet<\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-ului, as well as <\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Merlot<\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-of the -. On close examination, the variety exhibited the organoleptic characteristics of the variety  <\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cabernet Franc<\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with an ampelographic profile more similar to <\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Merlot<\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-ul. Given this, it was assumed that this grape is a natural, spontaneous cross of the two varieties.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Bordini is getting indulged<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For two decades, the owner of the clone has resisted all proposals to plant the clone in various vineyards, proposals from producers in various regions of Italy.  <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1985, however, Bordini allowed vines to be planted in only one place outside his nursery: at Podere Il Carnasciale, a Tuscan winery 30 km north of Siena and Arezzo and 60 km south of Florence. The vineyards of the Tuscan winery are located on a south-facing cliff above the Arno River.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Frost, an unexpected help<\/b><\/p><p>Two Berliners living in Italy, Wolf and Bettina Rogosky, have owned the place since the early 1970s, when only olive trees were planted in the area. Wolf wanted to plant vines, but the local authorities opposed his approach, forbidding the trees to be slaughtered. What&#8217;s more, Fiore came up with a revolutionary idea at the time: to limit production, he advised the vineyard owners, Wolf and Bettina Rogosky, to plant 10,000 plants per hectare, and leave only five bunches per plant. Initially, only a third of an acre was planted with the new clone, which Wolf named  <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Caberlot<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Out of superstition, the Rogosky&#8217;s buried a bottle of Sassicaia under the first grapevine they planted. Wolf Rogosky left this world in 1996, but his wife Bettina continued working in the vineyard with her son Moritz and winemaker Peter Schilling. Over the years, the planted area has grown to about two hectares, but wine production has not increased significantly. The wine is still bottled by hand and is stored in the cellars of the winery for two years before release. Bettina Rogosky still numbers each label by hand.  <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A second wine, from younger vines, also 100%. <\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Caberlot<\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, called <\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carnasciale<\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was launched on the market in 2000.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because the variety itself is unrecognised &#8211; technically, it doesn&#8217;t even exist! &#8211;  <\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Carberlot<\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is classified as IGT Toscana.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-ffc9b90 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"ffc9b90\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;jet_parallax_layout_list&quot;:[]}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-2d90962\" data-id=\"2d90962\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-253c018 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"253c018\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.winesofromania.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/2012Caberlot1.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-33904\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-a7f524b elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"a7f524b\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;jet_parallax_layout_list&quot;:[]}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-7e028b2\" data-id=\"7e028b2\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4568b0b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4568b0b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>A wine for the privileged<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After 18 months of aging in French barrels, <\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il Caberlot <\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">spends another 16 months aging in magnum bottles.<\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Il Caberlot<\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is bottled in magnum and double magnum bottles &#8211; the normal bottles are used as samples &#8211; and retailers who have it in their own wine cellar consider themselves privileged. <\/span> <\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the early years of the launch, when only 200 magnums were on the market, out of more than a thousand <\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wine shops<\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Tuscany, it could be found in only two.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, only two restaurants in Europe could boast <\/span><i>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il Caberlot<\/span>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  in the wine list: Il Cibreo, from Florence, and L&#8217;Ambroisie, a 3 Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris. Members of the elite Teatro del Sale in Florence can still only buy one magnum a year; it is considered a privilege and is passed down from generation to generation.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier this month came, if it was needed, another confirmation of the quality of these wines: VINOUS awarded 100 points to Il Caberlot 2018, made from the thirtieth vintage.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
