The Gîrboiu winery is one of the most important wineries in Vrancea, especially since it was among the first producers of quality wines from an area with a long history of outstanding wines. Founded in 2005 by Constantin Gîrboiu, the winery maintains a strong connection with local history, symbolized by the stylized face of the founding father, reflecting family values. The former property of the Zamfirescu nobleman was brought into the contemporary world by integrating modern technologies, but with care to preserve the legacy left by the ancestors. The emblematic wine of the winery is Şarbă, from the homonymous variety created in 1972, which reflects the unique terroir of the Odobești area and is a pride of the winery. The performance of the Gîrboiu Winery is internationally recognized, being the most awarded winery in Romania at the Mundus Vini international wine competition in 2023 and 2024, another proof of the winery’s commitment to quality wines.
