Casa de Vinuri Cotnari, founded in 2011, manages a vineyard on land with a tradition of over 2,000 years in Moldova, documented in 1448. The vineyard totals 350 hectares, in a region spiritually patronized by Stephen the Great. The headquarters is housed in a historic mansion from 1901, where visitors can discover the Japanese garden and the old cellar. Vlădoianu and Axinte vineyards and wineries, equipped with modern technologies (including GPS for planting), ensure an optimal route for the grapes, from the density of the vines to the winemaking flow. Casa de Vinuri Cotnari grows Busuioaca de Bohotin, Tămâioasă Românească, Grasa de Cotnari, Feteasca Albă, and Feteasca Neagră – native varieties selected for their adaptability to local climatic conditions and for their intrinsic qualities. Although the Cotnari area is known especially for its white wines, Casa de Vinuri Cotnari also promotes red wines, especially Feteasca Neagră.
