Budureasca is more than just a winery; it has a unique atmosphere. Whether it’s due to Olga Miloiu (general manager), the team of winemakers (Stephen Donnelly and Șerban Gheorghiu), or the entire staff, Budureasca embodies youthful bohemian spirit – especially after the launching of their most recent wine collections. The same youthful spirit is apparent in the winery’s events and communication style. Located in Dealu Mare and inaugurated in 2013, Budureasca winery covers 5,200 square meters. It has a production and storage capacity of 3.5 million liters, equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The initial investment in the winery and vineyards was approximately 12 million euros, with half coming from European funds. The Budureasca vineyards cover 275 hectares, 250 of which have been recently replanted, while 25 hectares retain old vines. Since 2007, winemaking at Budureasca has been led by winemaker Stephen Donnelly. The wines crafted under his guidance have won over 500 medals in competitions such as the Decanter World Wine Awards and Mundus Vini.
