Săhăteni Estates was founded in 2003 by oenologist Aurelia Vișinescu and her cousin by marriage, Steve Cacenco. Located in the heart of the Dealu Mare wine region, the winery embodies Aurelia’s dream of owning her vineyard and creating wines that reflect the authenticity of the local terroir. Today, Săhăteni Estates cultivates 82 hectares of vineyards, with red varieties covering 68% of the area and whites 32%, on lands that rise from the base of the Istrița Hills in Săhăteni village, at an altitude of 125 meters, to over 450 meters in the villages of Năeni and Fințești. Starting in 2019, Săhăteni Estates adopted an organic approach, and its first organic wines have been available since 2022. Aurelia Vișinescu’s philosophy emphasises the authenticity of each variety and the unique terroir, creating expressive, complex wines full of personality.
