It is a membrane extraction process in which two solid phases are contacted on a membrane. The compound to be perstracted selectively crosses the membrane into the extraction solution. Perstractia was originally developed to overcome the disadvantages liquid-liquid extraction (extractive toxicity and emulsion formation). Membrane extraction has been applied in many fields, including fermentation, wastewater treatment or production of soft drinks. (
